Welcome new and old paddlers to Spring and lots of paddling. RIVER BANK EROSION. We as a Club have been concerned about the severe erosion of the riverbank and have written a letter to Council with little effect(no money no responsibility). Jennifer, The Club President had a meeting with council,Sailing Club, Dept of Crown lands and Bill Nelson. We have been given permission to put in a submission to try and get a grant for a Sandy Beach. Council will support us but will not fund or do any work. The Sailing Club is working on this and will be working closely with them. REPAIR TO DRAGONFLY. The dragonfly has gone to hospital for repairs. The Calvin Hospital is looking after our boat nicely. It should be back on Friday hopefully. John and Warren are looking at the trailer as well. WEBSITE A bouquet of flowers to Alison Byram for getting the website up and running and giving the information to Mark. It is looking good. Do not forget to put your name down on the paddling session lists. Still some issues, but only minor. AGM. The AGM is on TUESDAY 30th OCTOBER 2012. 7.15PM-8.15PM WATERFRONT ROOM, EXCHANGE HOTEL, MANNING STREET, TAREE. Please consider a position on the Committee. All positions are open. Nominations to be into the Secretary one week prior 23rd October 2012. An email has been sent out to everyone. If you have an email buddy please ensure they get the AGM and nomination form. NEW HATS. Margaret Kurtz is now the seller of the MRDBC hats. They are $15.00 each. Please put money in envelope with name on it. Correct money please. Margs phone number is: 65525046 DISPLAY AT BIG W. We are having a display at Big W on Saturday 13th October. Rhonda Blanch is organizing roster and photos etc. This is is advertise our: COME AND TRY MORNING SAT 20TH OCTOBER. It is all happening. REGATTA COMMITTEE. Thank you to the members who turned up for our Regatta Meeting. We have formed a committee, however we do expect all the Club to help out to make it a successful event next year in August. Be prepared all you coaches and members. You will be sore, You will be stiff, You will have a 6 pack by Sunday night. Learn a lot and bring it back to the club. COOMBA PARK FUN PADDLE. A great day was had by all 6 members that went. I hear Sailing is now your chosen sport.!! It should not have been on Grand final Saturday when the SWANNIES were playing, and they won. GOOOOO SWANNIES. ( well I am from Melbourne) VOLUNTEER FOR FOSTER TRIATHON Thank you Club members that are volunteering for the Foster Triatho n on Saturday. We have made $50.00 per person. An easy fundraiser. More members than 5 would have been good. We are on Swim leg this year. (a bit of eye candy for us old ducks) REGATTA NEWS MYELSTROM- DONE. Us vollies had a great time. The Thai restaurant was fab. Made new friends, drank some wine, had y;ummy food, talked a little oh and yes we did work on the Sunday. Consider volunteering in future. GRAFTON. We are off to Grafton. Yahoo. Staying in town this year. If you have not booked better do it soon. Alison sent out an email where we are staying.(some motel in town)We are doing the 2km turn race(are you sweeping Deb?) and sprints on Sunday. BIRTHDAY WISHES. Happy birthday girls.
